The SugarBind DB was developed at the MITRE Corporation and is now maintained and enriched at SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics. The unmodified content of the database was transcribed from MITRE in August 2010. Since then, the SugarBind project spreads through active collaboration of SIB with Elaine Mullen and colleagues at the MITRE Corporation who initiated the database as well as the group of Prof. Lokesh Joshi supported by the Alimentary Glycoscience Research Cluster (AGRC), funded by Science Foundation Ireland (Grant No. 08/SRC/B1393) and the group of Prof. Nicki Packer of the Biomolecular Frontiers Research Centre at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.
